MORE THAN 10 tons of food has been collected for distribution to the underprivileged, following recent campaigns at supermarkets across the Algarve, organised by the students association of the Piaget Institute’s Medical School of Silves.
The medical students regularly carry out these initiatives close to festive seasons such as Easter and Christmas, in order to bring some cheer to those less fortunate on occasions when, traditionally, most of us are celebrating.
The food parcels will be distributed before Easter to charitable institutions across the Algarve, with particular emphasis being paid to the remote inner Algarve areas (Barrocal and Serra).
