Silves Castle welcomes Imperfect Friends exhibition

Carlos Filipe is a well-known photographer in the Algarve

The Imperfect Friends photography exhibition by Carlos Filipe, which was recently on display in Tavira, will be inaugurated at the donjon (tower) of Silves Castle on Saturday (October 7) at 5pm.

The exhibition will feature a collection of photographs taken  over the years by Carlos, who has become well-known for the stunning photos he takes of abandoned animals. It will remain on display at the castle until January 7, 2024.

Carlos Filipe is originally from Aljustrel and has a degree in Portuguese and English which he obtained before moving to the Algarve in 2005.

He began taking photographs “out of sheer curiosity” in 2009 and has been developing his craft ever since, having had his work published in numerous newspapers and magazines.

In 2019, he released his first book “Amigos (im)Perfeitos”, which was followed up by his most recent book ‘I Don’t Want to Die Here’, which can be ordered directly from the photographer.
