Fun || Silves will be holding its traditional ‘Feira de Todos os Santos’ autumn fair, between October 29 and November 1 at Sítio do Encalhe – behind the castle.
This will be followed by Portimão’s 353rd ‘Feira de São Martinho’, taking place between November 6 and 15 at the Portimão Arena, and characterised by the sales of hundreds of roasted chestnuts.
There will be a number of rides to enjoy at both fairs, as well as stands selling everything from food to clothing, shoes, household items and toys.
Schedules have still not been announced for Silves, but the Portimão fair will begin at 4pm on November 6.
It will then open every day at 10am, closing at midnight except on Friday and Saturday at 1am and on the closing night at 11pm.
The Silves and Portimão fairs are both hundreds of years old. They started taking place in 1492 and 1662, respectively.
