It’s almost that time of year when Silves and Portimão host their traditional annual autumn fairs.
Coming up first is Silves’ ‘Feira de Todos os Santos’, which will take place between Monday, October 30 and Thursday, November 2 at Sítio do Encalhe behind the town’s castle.
This will be followed by Portimão’s ‘Feira de São Martinho’, taking place between Friday, November 3 and Sunday, November 12 at the Portimão Arena.
Both fairs are known for the sale of piping-hot roasted chestnuts. But there will also be a number of rides to enjoy, as well as stands selling everything from food to clothing, shoes, household items and toys.
Admission to the fairs is free.
The Silves and Portimão fairs are both hundreds of years old. They started taking place in 1492 and 1662, respectively.
