An artefact from Silves’ Municipal Museum of Archaeology was due to go on show at the world-famous Louvre Museum in Paris on Friday (October 17). The item – an ancient wash basin dating to as far back as the12th century – was found during excavations at Silves Castle. It will be incorporated into the exhibition ‘Le Maroc Medieval (1053-1465)’, to run until mid-January 2015.
