Palmeiras-Prio cyclist Ricardo Mestre took the runner-up spot 56 seconds behind former Tavira team mate Krasimir Vasilev at the finish of the Tour of Bulgaria.
Another Algarvean, Andre Cardoso, was crowned ‘King of the Mountains’. Both have been invited to race for Portugal at the forthcoming World Championships.
