Madeleine’s parents were driven away at high speed from their apartment at the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz to the Polícia Judiciária headquarters in Portimão.
According to reports, the police have examined CCTV footage showing a girl fitting Madeleine’s description with two men and a woman at a service station in Lagos.
Portuguese authorities have called a press conference for this afternoon (time to be confirmed).
