THE ALGARVE Riding Club at Quinta dos Amigos near Almancil started the new year with a showjumping event, which included classes for juniors and seniors, and was open to members and non-members.
Winners of the Pre-debutantes were Hannah Taylor and Nanufa in their first competitive outing. Elodie Stoetman and Amber took first prize in the Debutantes and Laura Hirst and Bally Quick Decision were the victors in the Junior Novice. Sarah Dixon swept the board in the next three classes, winning the Senior Novice, 90cm Open and Senior Intermediate on Dixie Dot Com, Dixie Hot Shot and Perfect Maestro, respectively. A small but fiercely competitive 110cm Open completed the day’s proceedings, with a well-deserved first place for Nicola Morgan and Pascual I.
