BAR STAFF FROM across the region are invited to take part in the All Portugal Acexpo Bartending competition at the Hotel Algarve Expo 2008 held at the Estádio Algarve on June 3.
If you consider yourself to be a good barman or cocktail barman then you can enter the competition with the chance to win the first prize of 500 euros. The competition is open to all, regardless of nationality or languages spoken and is free to enter.
Professional bar staff will be showing off their drink and cocktail making skills on June 1 as part of the exhibition and a workshop will be available for those interested in improving their bar-tendering skills on June 2.
The open contest will take place on June 3 in the afternoon with qualifications of entry being enthusiasm, juggling skills, a smart appearance and clean fingernails.
Three categories of expertise will be assessed by the judges; speed, freestyle and creativity, with the creativity section consisting of the bar staff creating their own original cocktail.
For those that just want to watch the performances or give support to the entrants, entrance is also free to the exhibition.
