Following a successful pilot project in central Faro during Christmas that saw stewards providing shoppers with useful information and support, this could become a permanent fixture throughout the year.
According to a spokesperson for the local business association, Associação da Baixa de Faro, the use of stewards “could be very beneficial, both for the businesses and the shoppers”.
However, before this campaign can come to fruition, the association must study the outcome of the pilot project to evaluate the improvements which must be made in order to guarantee long-term success.
