Shop burglary

Thousands of pairs of glasses valued at around 100,000 euros and money from a safe were stolen from the Óptica Algarve opticians along Portimão’s main shopping street during the early hours of September 26.

Carlos Baptista, from the Óptica Algarve, said: “Only around 600 items of little value were left behind; all the branded glasses like Cartier disappeared.”
