Castelo de Sonhos registered charity in Silves gives support to more than 200 elderly in need and plans are already in place for the 10th annual “Shoebox Drive for the Elderly”.
Again supporting the cause is the Holiday Inn Algarve in Armação de Pêra, which is appealing to all to get involved by donating shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for the elderly.
The boxes should be packed carefully with a variety of goodies, which may be individually wrapped. After wrapped and labelled for man, woman or couple, the shoeboxes should be delivered to Castelo de Sonhos or the Holiday Inn Algarve between November 15 and December 1.
Suggested gifts include toiletries such as shampoo, soap, bath gel, comb, mirror, clothing accessories such as woolly hat, gloves, scarf, socks, hankies, tights, small shawl, a sewing kit, torch, tea towels, notebook and pen, sweets and cakes (please ensure they are well in date), ornaments, Christmas decorations and Christmas card. Do not include medicines.
The boxes will then be delivered by the Castelo de Sonhos team.
