Silves-based charity Castelo de Sonhos is already planning its 12th Annual Shoebox Drive for the Elderly just in time for Christmas.
To participate in the drive, you will need to fill an empty shoe box with goodies, clearly labelling whether they are for a man or a woman. Gifts could be toilet essentials such as shampoo, soap or body lotion, clothing such as woolly hats, gloves or scarves, tea towels, face cloths, small ornaments and even sweets (but ensure they are well in date). Do not include medicines.
The boxes should be delivered to Castelo de Sonhos in Silves or the Holiday Inn Algarve in Armação de Pêra between November 15 and December 1.
Castelo de Sonhos supports more than 200 elderly in need.
