An Algarve hotel is organising its 7th annual shoebox campaign to help one of the region’s charities for the elderly.
The boxes, containing small presents, will be delivered by the Holiday Inn Algarve to Castelo dos Sonhos, a registered charity which helps more than 200 elderly in need among other underprivileged people.
Anyone wishing to help should decide whether the gift will be for a man or a woman.
The shoe box can then be filled with a variety of gifts, carefully packed and with breakables wrapped well.
Gift suggestions include shampoo, soap, body lotion, bath gel, woolly hats, gloves, a comb or hair brush, notebooks, pens, sweets and chocolates, ornaments and decorations and a Christmas card. But please do not include any medications or food.
Filled shoeboxes can be delivered to Castelo dos Sonhos in Silves or the Holiday Inn Algarve (formerly Hotel Garbe in Armação de Pêra) between November 15 and December 5.
