AN IRAQI journalist is facing interrogation after he threw his shoes at US President George Bush during a press conference in Baghdad on December 14.
The reporter, Muntadar al Zeidi, jumped up as George Bush was addressing journalists alongside Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al Maliki and shouted “A farewell kiss, you dog” before being apprehended by security guards.
Officials in Iraq have said that Muntadar al Zeidi, who is in his late twenties, is being held at the prime minister’s headquarters where he will be questioned to ascertain if he had been paid to throw the shoes.
