Shark sightings close down beaches at Figueira da Foz

The sighting of at least three shark closed down beaches at Figueira da Foz yesterday. In ordering lifeguards to hoist the red flag ports captain João Lourenço, said “we don’t see shark very often in this area, but it has happened before”. The alert went out late in the afternoon on Sunday. Bathers still in the water were advised to get out. The shark were first seen by surfers.
