An audience of more than 100 people heard about Sir Ernest Shackleton’s expedition to the Antarctic in 1916.
The presentation took place at St Paul’s Church, Estoril, on November 24.
Original photos taken by Frank Hurley, the expedition photographer, were displayed while Geoff Selley, the custodian of original equipment and script, retold the story.
A raffle raised €1,582 for the Royal British Legion and the Friends of the British Cemetery Elvas charity.
