Sextuplets born

GERMANY’S FIRST sextuplets for 20 years were born prematurely, at just 27 weeks, in a clinic in the capital Berlin on October 16.

According to independent specialists, the four girls and two boys, who each weigh between 800 and 900 grams, have a good chance of survival.

Sextuplets are very rare, occurring in one out of every 4.5 million pregnancies. The first confirmed case of sextuplets surviving past infancy was recorded in Cape Town in South Africa in 1974.
