Sex trafficking

MORE THAN 600 adults who are involved in child prostitution have been arrested in raids across the US.

According to the FBI, co-ordinated operations involving federal, state and local law officers took place in 29 cities, which dismantled 12 large-scale prostitution rings and rescued 47 children between the ages of 13 and 17.

It was also revealed that since 2003, 575 child prostitutes have been saved from exploitation by American criminal gangs.

FBI Deputy Director John Pistole said: “Sex trafficking of children remains one of our most violent and unconscionable crimes in this country.”
