Sewing machines donated

After a plea for a sewing machine to enable Castelo de Sonhos charity to develop a sewing class at Silves Prison, six people offered to donate the equipment.

Celia Mossman, a volunteer for Castelo de Sonhos, told the Algarve Resident: “We were amazed at the response. Six people offered us machines that were no longer being used. Many, many thanks to all those generous people.”

One machine is already installed at the prison and three more will be taken there once they have been checked over.

The two other machines are going to be used by CAFAP (Centro de Apoio Familiar e Aconselhamento Parental) technicians to teach impoverished families to sew.
