Seven people were injured in a serious accident this morning (March 1) involving a truck, a van and a car on the Portimão Bridge, which links the town to Lagoa.
Three are said to be in “serious condition”.
Traffic was cut off until 1pm as authorities had to extricate victims from their vehicles, sources told Barlavento newspaper.
The circumstances of the accident, which happened at around 11am, are unknown.
The bridge is part of the EN125, the only free-to-use road that links one point of the Algarve to the other.
