Amigos de Música (Friends of Music) are this month hosting Serbian pianist Milan Miladinovic who will perform four concerts in the auditorium of Os Agostos, an 18th century country estate near Santa Bárbara de Nexe and Bordeira.
These concerts will consist of a matinée starting at 11am and an evening performance starting at 7pm.
The first two concerts will be on Tuesday, September 14 when the artist will play music by Alexander Scriabin. The final two concerts will be on September 16 when Milan will play a Franz Liszt programme.
Milan Miladinovic is a prize-winning Serbian pianist who started studying the piano when he was very young. Milan is a laureate and first prize winner of many national and international piano competitions.
He has performed throughout Europe as well as in the USA, Brazil and Israel. Milan has given many lecture recitals in Serbian, Russian and English. He has recorded for Serbian, Greek, Israeli and Dutch radio and TV stations. His piano students are laureates of more than 20 international piano competitions.
For the matinée, doors will open at 10am for the concert at 11am. Coffee and biscuits will be available for self-service. For the evening performance, doors will open at 6pm and the concert will begin at 7pm. Wine, fruit juices and canapés will be available for self-service. Entry donation is €25 per person for guests and non-members payable in advance by bank transfer (see website).
The Amigos de Música is an international group of around 90 members who stage musical activities by internationally renowned musicians and also sponsor young Portuguese musicians. It is a non-profit organisation and this year is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
