Police are investigating the death of a 79-year-old woman and her 37-year-old daughter whose “semi-naked” bodies were found inside the house they lived in together in Funchal (Madeira).
Neighbours alerted authorities on Wednesday due to the “intense smell” emanating from the house and the fact that they had not been seen for “several weeks,” according to Correio da Manhã tabloid.
The bodies were found by PSP police in an “advanced state of decomposition,” the tabloid adds.
