Following on from their recent success at La Piazza Restaurant in Santa Bárbara de Nexe, the Almancil Rock Choir joined forces with the Tavira Rock Choir on Saturday night to perform at the Jin Yuan Chinese Restaurant in São Brás.
The concert was yet another sellout for the choir formed in January under the leadership of musical director Howard Parkin.
After demands from the audience of more than 100, the choir performed their version of The Beach Boys Good Vibrations by way of an encore. Soloists on the night included the choir’s very own Elvis, Joe Barreiros, who thrilled the ladies in the audience with The Wonder of You.
The choir has attracted members representing many nationalities from all over the Algarve. However, there are still some vacancies for anyone who is interested in having a bit of fun. There are no auditions and people are welcome to come along to one of the rehearsals to see if they like it.
