With the summer rentals coming to an end, many vendors will look at putting their properties back for sale.
If you think renting out your property is a lot of hassle, trying to put it all back in good order after the rental season will imply a fair bit of work as well.
Whether your property has just been rented for the summer season or for a longer period, it needs to be in perfect shape before putting it on the market again. In these tough economic times, the buyers are very aware of quality and pricing and will look at a large number of properties before making a decision.
So making sure your property is in the best possible condition is very important.
Make sure that after the rental season the property has had an ‘industrial’ type cleaning and that all is spick and span.
Grease stains near the BBQ area, spilled drinks on the terrace, dirty curtains and all the like should be brought back to their original state.
Have you rented the property for many years and are thinking of replacing the furniture? Perhaps now is a good time to give your home a new look. Unpainted walls, cracks and broken tiles will not help to sell your property – get the problems fixed.
Does your garden look more like a jungle? This will not help when presenting the property to a potential buyer. This vital area in a property needs to look its best in order for it to achieve a good selling price. If you can’t do it yourself, there are plenty of professionals out there who can help you. Often, it looks like more work than it actually is.
Selling a property in the current market does take a bit of effort and it’s not just from the agent but also from the vendor.
By making sure that the property and surrounding areas look their very best, it will help to sell the property. Vendor and agent need to work together to get the buyer their dream home in the sun!
