With the ins and outs of the public prosecutors’ case against senior officials at Altice Portugal filling the tabloid press for yet another day, Alexandre Fonseca – self-suspended former chairman of the company’s Portuguese subsidiary – is described as “demanding full clarification of the facts” – potentially a little difficult as the main suspects (Armando Pereira and Hernani Vaz Antunes) have yet to be questioned by a judge in Lisbon. Mr Fonseca made his demand over LinkedIn, stressing he is “completely unaware of what has been publicly reported” (also odd, in that the case has been discussed in great detail for days). What is clear is that Mr Pereira (Altice’s co-founder) and Mr Antunes are due to be questioned by Judge Carlos Alexandre “next”, says SIC Notícias. This could mean this afternoon, in the case of 71-year-old Pereira.
