Tax authorities in Portugal are selling 88 seized houses a day.
Since the beginning of the year, 18,600 houses seized due to unpaid tax debts have been sold, 65% of the total number of seized properties in 2011. Last year, 28,462 houses were sold by the Finanças in Portugal.
The properties, which are sold below market value, have attracted high demand.
From January 1 to July 25 this year, 9,676 houses and 942 vehicles have been seized because of unpaid tax debts.
