SEF inspectors syndicate has finally dropped its threat of a strike that would have ‘paralysed tourism’ (click here) thanks to the government playing hard ball in the form of a civil requisition (click here).
In one action-packed week, this ‘crisis’ at least seems to have been defused.
The plan now is for syndicate chiefs to meet with the Minister of Interior Administration on Friday and try and sort out their grievances.
As reports have all explained, SEF inspectors are stunned by the ‘extinction’ of their service (to merge in part with police forces, retaining ‘bureaucratic’ asylum duties for a new agency altogether click here).
They insist a change this sweeping should be ratified by parliament, as do a number of parties in opposition.
