SEF strike causes 4-hour queues at Lisbon airport

A strike by SEF inspectors is causing chaos today at Lisbon airport. Queues through passport control have reportedly held people up by up at least four hours. Some reports are talking six hour delays. The issue is the government’s unpopular (arguably unconstitutional) intention to disband the service and spread its duties between GNR and PSP police. The measure is being discussed today in parliament with minority parties deeply critical of the government’s performance.
