Portugal’s border control authority (SEF) has identified eight people who were working in Albufeira despite living in the country illegally.
The inspection was carried out on Saturday at two restaurants and a laundry shop.
The illegal workers were given 20 days to voluntarily leave the country while the companies that employed them are facing fines ranging between €6,000 and €25,000.
