Almost a year ‘on the run’ from authorities in France, an Italian father wanted for the abduction of two of his sons was foiled by SEF inspectors at Porto airport yesterday (Monday).
The boys, aged 11 and 13, are due to be taken before Family and Child Protection magistrates in Matosinhos.
Reports do not explain what, if anything, is happening to the father.
The trio was ‘detected’ preparing to board a flight to Marrakech, Morocco. The father was also in the company of another, younger son explains Lusa.
According to a communiqué issued by SEF today, the boys were removed from the father in France in July 2020 “when a judicial decision placed them in the custody of French Social Services”.
