CHANNEL 4’s television programme Selling Houses Abroad sent a TV crew to the Algarve in February to film the makeover of a villa close to the village of Gorjões, Santa Bárbara de Nexe.
The new series of the hit show has just started and the programme filmed in the Algarve will be screened on Channel 4 on Tuesday, April 24 at 8pm.
The Resident was very involved with the project and carried an appeal from the show’s producers in December 2006, asking homeowners to come forward if they needed help solving a property nightmare or assistance selling a home. There was a big response and the producers selected a property owned by Amanda Evans and Simon Cheetham from Surrey.
The couple was keen to sell their Algarve holiday home in order to buy a bigger house in the UK to accommodate their expanding family. The makeover team came in with a 5,700 euro budget to give the home a fresh new look. Bathrooms were changed, wardrobe doors replaced, a new dining suite purchased and various soft furnishings designed and handmade.
See how the villa looked before and after its makeover by tuning in on April 24!
