Albufeira Câmara President, Desidério Silva, has requested urgent police reinforcements from the ministry of internal affairs for the summer months.
In his request, sent on June 19, the mayor alerts the ministry to the fact that the number of people recorded in Albufeira can increase from 50,000 on a typical winter day to 350,000 per day in the summer.
“Albufeira represents one of the main and the best tourist destinations in our country,” he said.
