Faro Câmara has licensed its first two night guards for the city.
A spokesman from Faro Câmara said: “We expect to employ more night guards in the future because we want Faro citizens to be safe.”
The night guards will carry out patrols every evening and will work in cooperation with police forces to provide security cover.
