The Secretary of State for Local Administration and Administrative Reform, Paulo Júlio, resignedon January 25 after being charged with maladministration of a public tender during his mandate as Mayor of Penela in 2008.
News agency Lusa reported that the Prime Minister Passos Coelho praised Paulo Júlio’s work for the government, adding that he will be replaced “in due time”.
The former Secretary of State told newspaper Expresso that he is “calm” and “convinced the case will be clarified”.
