Second case of measles flagged in Lisbon area; more expected

A second case of measles has been flagged in Lisbon in a child who had contact with the baby who allegedly ‘imported the virus’ from the United Kingdom. Portugal’s DGS health authority has admitted that it expects more cases to appear in the coming days as there are various outbreaks of the virus throughout Europe. The latest child confirmed with the virus is also a non-resident, and equally unvaccinated with the triple MMR jab administered against measles.  The child is ‘clinically stable’ and in isolation ‘at home’.
