NETWORK, THE association for business and working women in Portugal, raised more than 1,600 euros for the Lar Bom Samaritano children’s home at their annual Christmas fair in the Hotel Garbe, Armação de Pêra, on Monday, December 1.
The fair was an opportunity for businesses to display their products and services while members of the public picked up gifts for Christmas. There was a large variety of stalls selling everything from jewellery to clothes, as well as cheeses, pickles, smoked salmon, pet products and much more. Father Christmas was also available with his elf assistant to speak to children at the fair.
Rajmataz Middle Eastern Dancing entertained the crowds throughout the event. |

Network coordinator, Paulette Fouché told The Resident: “The fair went very well, there were plenty of stalls and things to see for the hundreds of visitors.”
She added: “Stall holders gave positive feedback, saying that the fair went better than they expected, considering the current economic situation.”
The Alvor-based Bom Samaritano children’s home is currently looking to raise 40,000 euros to be able to purchase a minibus.
