Air and sea searches for the three missing crew members from Friday’s shipwreck off Figueira da Foz have been stepped down as weather conditions have also started to deteriorate. The only searches to be maintained now will be those on land. There is almost no hope remaining for further survivors of the Letícia Clara, debris from which has already been located, with some of it having washed ashore. Say reports, the boat was not equipped with GPS as it was below the 14-metre size that requires an onboard emergency locator system. The sole survivor, skipper Rui Camaço, is still in hospital but almost certain to make a full recovery. He is described as devastated by the loss of his co-workers, two Indonesians and a Moroccan.
