PJ police have today been conducting searches at Caminha Town Hall, in the north west of the country, requesting “certain documents related with the Transfrontier Exhibition Centre” – more pointedly, the building that never got built, but for which a former mayor ‘paid’ (out of council funds) a €300,000 rent for. This is the story about the erstwhile Secretary of State in the office of prime minister António Costa who already faces trial for prevarication in another case, now due to be heard in January.
