Algarve golfer Sean Hawker has won his first PGA Portugal Tour title at the Optilink PGA Open, which took place on Tuesday (April 8) at Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort in Meia Praia, Lagos. His seven-under-par score earned him first place – ahead of João Carlota (three-under-par) and Tiago Cruz (two-under-par) – as well as a €1,100 grand prize.
The English-Portuguese PGA professional has not been able to compete regularly since he suffered a chronic injury to his right wrist three-and-a-half years ago, but is working with Golf for Greys, along with Eddie Pilkington, and is also the resident professional at Morgado do Reguengo Golf Resort, near Portimão.
