A huge wave swept a seaman from the merchant ship Corvo that was travelling from Leixões, mainland Portugal, to Ponta Delgada in the Azores during last weekend’s storms. The accident happened mid-journey on Sunday with no other vessels in sight. The Corvo carried out its own search until Navy and Air Force support arrived, but the man was still missing this morning (February 11).
