Festival da Caldeirada e do Mar returns between May 27-29
Armação de Pêra is gearing up for the return of the town’s popular “Festival da Caldeirada e do Mar” gastronomic event, which shines the spotlight on delicious, locally-caught fish and seafood.
Due to take place between May 27 and 29, the event is inspired by the Portuguese ‘caldeirada’, a stew typically cooked with fish or seafood, potatoes and peppers.
Organisers are encouraging local restaurants to sign up until Friday, April 8. To participate, restaurants and eateries must serve one ‘caldeirada’ dish preferably, or another typical Algarvian dish made with local seafood. They must also serve at least one wine produced in the borough of Silves and desserts made with local products, such as the Silves orange.
