A sudden wave in the early hours of Tuesday morning off Castelo do Neiva, Viana do Castelo, caused a fishing boat in search of octopus to turn-turtle, with fatal consequences. Father-of-one Manuel Brito, 55, was rescued from the cold waters within a very short time, but he died onshore. Colleague Adriano Crispim was taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia and is said to be recovering well.
