‘Avô Melro’, the fishing boat that crashed into rocks near Aljezur’s Arrifana beach on Monday (April 4), is going to be removed either today or tomorrow by maritime authorities.
Weather conditions had been “too severe” to remove the boat any earlier, Lagos port’s commander Carvalho Pinto told Lusa news agency.
Once removed, the boat will t be taken to Arrifana bay, where it will be inspected in order to see if it is secure enough for towing to Portimão marina.
Six fishermen were on board the boat when it crashed. They were airlifted to safety, unharmed. (click here)
