Scruffts Dog Show, now in its tenth year, takes place this weekend at the Fatacil grounds in Lagoa.
There will be 17 pedigree and non pedigree judging classes on Sunday, along with an opportunity for dogs and their owners to compete in the Agility Course organised by Margaret Gobby and also to learn about “clicker” training with Yolande Bosman.
Faro-based AHCTA Search and Rescue Team will also be showcasing their dogs completing a number of simulated “emergency response” demonstrations.
The show will be opened by Lagoa Mayor, José Inácio Eduardo, whilst Algarve FM radio show host Ian Reddin will be returning as Master of Ceremonies and Main Ring Announcer.
Registration for entrants starts from 10am with the judging classes commencing at 11am after the official opening.
Prizes for the judging classes will be supplied by Paw4Pets, this year’s main sponsor of the dog show.
All dogs entering any of the judging classes need up-to-date vaccination papers, which must be available for inspection, and dogs born after January 1, 2008, and all dangerous breeds, must have microchips.
