The government’s decision to scrap hospital charges in almost all cases will represent a reduction in revenue of around €31 million, health minister Marta Temido has told a parliamentary commission evaluating the proposed State Budget today. The measure, which comes into effect next month, is just one of various that the government drew up to “mitigate the barriers” to access to the State health service, she said.
