Scrape off the war paint!

A study has revealed that one in five men wish their partner would tone down their makeup, while one in 10 said they liked women who wear none at all.

According to the research, top make up faux pas includes false eyelashes, bright lipstick, Amy Winehouse-style eyeliner flicks, dark lip-liner and pencilled-in eyebrows.

Gloopy mascara and panda eyes caused by leaving make-up on overnight were also hailed as a no-no.

The research also found that although many men wished their partner would ease off on the war-paint, broaching the subject wasn’t so easy, with only around half admitting to telling their partners.

One in 10 of those who did voice their opinion were dumped soon afterwards.

A spokesman for skincare experts St Ives, who carried out the research among 2,000 adults, said: ‘’For many guys, makeup can act as a barrier between them and their partner, and it seems they simply prefer their women to go natural.”
