Schools want more time to recover ‘lost learning’

The educational plan for the recovery of ‘learning lost during the pandemic’ is scheduled to end next year, with school directors all considering they need more time. As tabloid Correio da Manhã explains, the plan was adopted in 2021, since which time schools have still been affected by constraints due to the virus – not least staff absences. Said Filinto Lima, the president of the national association of public school directors, the plan should, ideally, be carried through till 2024.
