Schools out on November 29: janitors up-in-arms

Schools up and down the country will be closed on Friday November 29 due to a strike called by the national federation of social and public sector workers.

The federation has called the strike in support of school janitors, critically under-staffed and working on ‘precarious’ salary structures.

It blames the government for ‘decentralising’ State schools and leaving staffing levels to borough councils. Bottom line: the federation wants 6000 extra staff.
