A total of 262 students from 2nd and 3rd ‘Ciclo’ and secondary schools took part in another Inter-Schools Cross Country event organised by Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura (CIV) last weekend.
Representing nine international schools in Portugal, pupils competed in several categories.
CIV students performed well, with Tomás Barriga, Gonçalo Oliveira and Angelo Teixeira finishing in the top three spots of the ‘Benjamins A’ male category. Andresa Félix finished second in the female ‘Infantis’ category, while Nicole Castro and Giovanna Gombo picked up second and third place in ‘Benjamins A’ for female students.
CIV also won two team prizes – 1st place in the male and female ‘Benjamins’ category, as well as two 3rd places in ‘Iniciados’ – Male and ‘Benjamins B’ – Female.
However, nearly all schools saw at least some of their students achieve a podium spot.
Other participating schools included St. Julian’s School, St. Dominic’s International School, Vale Verde International Algarve, Oeiras International School (OIS), International Preparatory School (IPS), Nobel International School, Parque LBS and Carlucci American International School of Lisbon.
The event was supported by the Red Cross, GNR police and the entire CIV staff.
